NYPD: Man beat aunt to death with broom during argument in Queens home
A 55-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death with a broom by her nephew inside her Queens home Tuesday morning, police said. Juanita Dallas and Alexander Fleming, 29, were reportedly engaged in a verbal dispute at around 10:30 a.m. in the vicinity of 164 Street and 108 Avenue, when Fleming allegedly struck Dallas in the head with the broom, a spokesperson for the NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Public Information said in a statement.

Outside of Citi Field in Queens, New York, a small group of protesters gathered Wednesday to push back on the growing use of facial recognition scanning. A group of eight people with the nonprofit advocacy group Fight for the Future and the New York-based nonprofit Surveillance Technology Oversight Project (STOP) protested against facial recognition scanning and other biometric data collection outside a Mets game, trying to raise awareness among attendees about what was happening to some ticket-holders when they stepped into the stadium.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is reviewing a Remedial Investigation Report (RIR) for the former United Hospital Site, just over the Rye line in Port Chester, across from the Whole Foods. A major mixed use development plan is underway for the 12 acre site.
