Middle School Courtyard Makeover Plan
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The viewers have spoken and now it’s time for the plan! The Hampton Roads Show got an email from Deep Creek Middle School (DCMS) history teacher Dory Suttmiller about the condition of the two courtyards at DCMS. All last week, viewers helped pick a final plan for the courtyard. Micah Miller at Easton Outdoors joined HRS with the final plan and it will be constructed in the month of July with a reveal in August following the Summer Olympics.
Hampton, Chesapeake students earn full-ride scholarships to University of Mary Washington
Two Washington Scholars and four Alvey Scholars will be among the thousand incoming Eagles at the University of Mary Washington in fall 2024. The students earned full-ride scholarships, which are renewable for four years of undergraduate studies with GPA and residential requirements. They are also admitted to the Honors Program and have access to funding for experiential learning opportunities such as study abroad and undergraduate research.
Field Hockey Welcomes 2024 Incoming Class
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary head field hockey coach Tess Ellis announced the addition of six student-athletes to the defending CAA Champions roster for the 2024 season. The list includes Davidson graduate transfer defender Ellie Taylor (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's/Davidson) and five incoming freshmen in midfielder/forward Alivia Boatwright (Fredericksburg, Va. / Mountain View), goalkeeper Emma Cari (Emmaus, Pa. / Emmaus), midfielder/forward Josette DeGour (Haddonfield, N.J. / Bishop Eustace Prep), defender Darcy Kopsinis (North Chesterfield, Va. / Trinity Episcopal), and midfielder/forward Ava Rossman (Beaverdam, Va. / Patrick Henry).
Smithfield High’s Brown named all-state in baseball
