Bullett to Be Inducted into DC Sports Hall of Fame
WASHINGTON, DC -- Maryland women's basketball legend Vicky Bullett will be inducted into the DC Sports Hall of Fame this Sunday, July 21 at Nationals Park. Nine individuals and one Team of Distinction make up the Washington DC Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The formal induction ceremony will be held at Nationals Park on Sunday prior to the Washington Nationals-Cincinnati Reds game. Klein brothers plead guilty for role in 2021 riot at U.S. Capitol
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two brothers pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from their conduct during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. Jonathanpeter Allen Klein, 24, of Pendleton pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to one count of civil disorder and one count of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers.

WASHINGTON – Eugene Tracy Hill, 31, of Washington D.C., who utilized the street nicknames “Geno,” Cheese,” or “Doe,” pleaded guilty today to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances; conspiracy to use, carry, and possess machine guns in furtherance of drug trafficking, and two counts of using, carrying, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Animal Shelter Is Down to One Officer Following Resignations
Over the last couple of weeks two of Greenbelt’s three animal control officers have resigned, including Supervisor Walter Rivas-Flores, who had worked at the shelter since 2022 and became the supervisor in January this year. Earlier this year Rivas-Flores, who personally trained every volunteer, spoke enthusiastically about his big plans for the future of the shelter and described his work as “a labor of love.”
