Welcome Back To The 1st Annual Mid-Season Kraky Awards

In our previous story, we awarded the mid-season Krakys for the Seattle team equivalent of the NHL's Art Ross, Rocket Richard, Hart and Norris Trophies.

There's still some big categories to be announced, so let's not keep you in suspense any longer.

VEZINA: Joey Daccord
54 NHL goalies this season have made 15 or more starts. Among those, Daccord ranks 5th in both goals-against average (2.32) and save percentage (.921). Prefer advanced metrics? Daccord ranks 2nd among all 91 NHL netminders in “Goals Saved Above Average” ( naturalstattrick.com ), 18 ^th in “Goals Saved Above Expected” ( moneypuck.com ).

SELKE: Jordan Eberle
Eberle is 2 ^nd among Kraken forwards in “Defensive Point Shares,” 1 ^st in “Even Strength Corsi (puck possession),” 3 ^rd in takeaways, and 1 ^st in “Expected Plus/Minus.” (Source: hockeyreference.com ). If you know what any of that means, please give me a call.

CALDER: Tye Kartye
Kartye opened eyes in last season’s NHL playoffs with three goals, a booming shot, and crunching hits. Last year’s AHL rookie of the year has continued to be a physical presence, while chipping in eight goals – tied for sixth on the team.

MASTERTON: Adam Larsson
Larsson has played every game in Seattle Kraken history – 214 and counting. He’s a dressing room leader, top-pair defenseman, and routinely plays more minutes than anyone else. "We get so banged-up on a daily basis,” he told the Seattle Times. “You almost learn to not feel great.” Most important of all, his bowl-haircut visage on a T-shirt has become a team fashion statement.

LADY BYNG: Oliver Bjorkstrand
The Kraken All-Star has played in all 50 of his team’s games, averages more than 16 minutes TOI, and has taken exactly one minor penalty all season. Need we say more?
