By the NHL Trade Deadline of 12 noon PT Friday, we'll know who else, if anyone, has been traded off Seattle Kraken island.

Whether veteran winger Jordan Eberle (pictured above) remains in Seattle could depend on whether he and the team agree on the length of a new deal.

"Eberle has been going back and forth with the Kraken on a contract," Frank Seravalli reported on his Daily Faceoff podcast.

"They’re offering a two-year deal, but he’s looking for a third. I believe his preference is to stay in Seattle, but if Seattle doesn’t get a deal done, they’ve vowed to trade him by Friday.”

If the two sides don't come to an agreement, he could be headed back to place he played for seven seasons. “Eberle is another player the Oilers are monitoring,” said Seravalli. “They would bring him in even after the (Adam) Henrique deal."

Eberle speaks about the trade deadline in today's Kraken Reaction video.

Eberle's $5.5 million AAV contract expires at the end of the season, at which time he would become an unrestricted free agent. That's the scenario Kraken general manager Ron Francis won't let happen.

Wennberg On The Great White Way

"It's a dream coming true for me to play for the Rangers."

That's how former Kraken center Alex Wennberg described his first practice after being traded to New York on Wednesday. "Going from Seattle, we've been fighting to get in (the playoffs), to instead, I want to win a Cup, so it's a great opportunity."

Wennberg will wear number 91 with the Blueshirts.

From the Rangers team website : "Despite having just taken a whirlwind cross-country flight overnight and enduring a three-hour time difference, Wennberg impressed his teammates as he joined them for practice.

"Fortunately, for the native of Stockholm, Sweden, he already is used to some familiar faces on the Rangers, in fellow Swedes Mika Zibanejad and Erik Gustafsson, plus former Columbus teammate Artemi Panarin.

"Wennberg began packing up his house in Seattle a few days ago knowing he would be traded. Joining the Rangers with Zibanejad and Gustafsson affords him and his pregnant wife some comfort, as she will also have some familiar faces in the Big Apple."
