The Seattle Kraken are running out of runway.

If they hope to keep their flickering playoff chances from going dark, they can't afford missteps like Friday's 3-0 loss to Winnipeg.

The problem is, no matter the urgency, no matter the desire, it's virtually impossible to summon peak performances night after night after night.

If watching the Kraken and the out-of-town scoreboard is nerve-wracking for fans this time of year, Kraken winger Jordan Eberle says it's equally tough on players.

"When you get into situations like this, and I have been, when you're fighting to get in the playoffs, it's a roller coaster of emotions," Eberle said in a KJR radio interview.

"It's much like the playoffs, it really is. You win a game and couple of teams lose a game, you feel really good. If you lose a game and some teams you're chasing win, it feels daunting.

"As long as you're playing meaningful hockey down the stretch, you never know."

Here's what we know with the Kraken set to play one of the teams they're chasing, the Vegas Golden Knights, Tuesday at Climate Pledge Arena.
