Seattle Kraken on The Hockey News
What You Missed If You Missed Kraken TV This Season

Saturday, we shared a few entertaining Seattle Kraken moments - not from the team, but from their ROOT Sports TV broadcasters.
Here's more of the most entertaining give-and-take among John Forslund (JF), Eddie Olczyk (EO), and J.T. Brown (JTB) from the April 16 Kraken telecast in Winnipeg.
JF: I am sandwiched in between you two tonight, very tight confines. EO: You're in the center tonight. You don't look like a center. JF: I don't feel like a center. JF: Usually, you're an outcast. JTB: I like you in the center. Maybe we can do this more often. EO: Not ever. I need Johnny far away over there. JF: Not within striking distance.
Winnipeg's Josh Morrissey low-bridges referee Milt Dunning with a clear-in; Dunning tumbles to the ice to avoid getting beaned.
EO: He had to duck, duck, goose. JF: That's a wonderful game. The old duck, duck goose. EO: Are we going to take a break here, Johnny? JF: I never thought when I woke up this morning that I was going to say tonight, "Duck, duck, goose."
The Esplanade Riel, a pedestrian bridge, is one of Winnipeg's besk-known architechtual landmarks.
JF: I'm told that's the only bridge in North America with a restaurant on top of it. (Actually, not since 2020.) I'm not going to think about it again, because I'm not going there. I'll tell you that. JTB: What if that's where Edzo wants to repay his bet? JF: No chance. You have a nice night. I will not do that. I won't. I'll be at Jack In The Box.
Olczyk, not wanting interference with his stream of consciousness.
EO: Hopefully we don't get interrupted by another goal. JF: It's only the most important play in the game. That's OK.
Winnipeg's Dylan Samberg shoots off the post, reigniting a frequent topic: why hitting iron isn't counted as a shot on goal.
EO: Where the crossbar and the post meet, is that called the "elbow?" JF: We call that the "croast."
EO: It's not a shot on goal. JF: We're on this. EO: I don't know that we're "on this." I don't concur with it.
JF: We've been on this all season. EO: It's been longer than a season. I've pondered this for a long time. JF: Decades, really. Time flies when you're having fun.
EO: What was it like when you started back in (19)26? JF: They didn't have posts back then. They just had two pylons. If you got it between the two markers, it was a goal. EO: Have you ever been referred to as a pylon, Johnny? JF: No. (Laughs)
Monday: Probably the best, and likely the longest, non-game-related story of the Kraken TV season.
