2023-24 Kraken Individual Records
1. Joey Daccord recorded the Kraken record for saves in a game. How many?
Daccord set the franchise record with 42 saves on Oct. 26, 2023 in a loss at Carolina. He matched that total on Dec. 20, 2023 in a victory at Los Angeles.
2. Which Kraken forward won 14 faceoffs in four separate games?
Yanni Gourde won 519 of 1,085 draws last season. That includes exactly 14 wins on Dec. 7, 2023 vs. New Jersey, Dec. 12, 2023 vs. Florida, March 4, 2024 at Calgary and April 18, 2024 at Minnesota.
3. Who set a Kraken franchise record with 229 hits?
Tye Kartye dished out 229 hits in 2023-24, 15 hits-per-60 minutes played. That ranked third among NHL rookies. Kartye was credited with seven hits in a single game four times, the most of any Kraken skater.
4. Who set a Kraken one-game record by skating just under 30 minutes?
Adam Larsson skated 29:52 on Oct. 14 against St. Louis, a franchise record and the highest single-game total of his career.
5. What NHL mark was Jared McCann the first in a century to achieve?
With a goal in Seattle’s season opener at Vegas on Oct. 10, 2023, McCann became the first player in more than 100 years (George Carey, Newsy Lalonde) to record a goal in each of a franchise’s first three season-opening game. (NHL Stats)
6. Who led the Kraken with 177 blocked shots?
Defenseman Adam Larsson blocked a career-best 177 shots, 15th in the NHL. Eight of those came in a single game, Feb. 29, 2024 vs. Pittsburgh.
2023-24 Kraken Team Records
7. Not counting the Winter Classic or Mullett Arena in Arizona, in which venues did the Kraken play before the largest and smallest crowds?
20,915 packed into the Bell Center, the NHL's largest arena, to watch the Montreal Canadiens beat the Kraken 4-2 on Dec. 4, 2023. A 4-3 Kraken win over the Jets was witnessed by 13,125 in Winnipeg on Mar. 5, 2024.
8. Multiple choice: Seattle's single-game best faceoff percentage was:
a. 49% b. 56% c. 65% d. 78%
On Dec. 10, 2023, Seattle won 65% of draws in a 3-0 shutout loss to Minnesota at Climate Pledge Arena.
9. Multiple choice: Seattle's single-game worst faceoff percentage was:
a. 19% b. 28% c. 37% d. 44%
Back at CPA on Jan. 21, 2024, the Kraken could only come up with 28% of faceoffs in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
10. How many shutouts did the Kraken have, and how many times shut out?
In 12 of their 82 games, only one team scored. The Kraken were whitewashed seven times; meanwhile, Philipp Grubauer and Joey Daccord combined to blank the opposition five times.
