Where to spend Father's Day weekend in Seattle

It's starting to truly feel like summer, so celebrate this weekend with events for outdoorsy dads, Seattle's quirkiest baseball team and light beers for summer days.

    Thursday

🎸 Calling all elder millennials: Thursday night, Third Eye Blind and Yellowcard play the Wamu Theater, which means you can bop along to songs you loved as a middle schooler and embrace reaching the age of reunion tours and classic rock radio. Doors 5pm, show 6:30pm. Tickets starting at $45.50.

Seattle's summer college baseball league team, the DubSea Fish Sticks , is back in season! Watch them play at Mel Olson Stadium at King County's Steve Cox Memorial Park. The game starts at 6:35pm, with tickets starting at $13.50, plus $3 fish sticks, hot dogs, soda and draft beers.

    Friday

🍿 From "The Devil Wears Prada" to "A Cry in the Dark," salute the varied oeuvre of Meryl Streep at Merylthon , a three-day film festival devoted to the queen of quiet gravitas, starting with a screening of "Doubt."

    • Festivities begin at 5pm with tickets starting at $20. Yes, it's in Tacoma, but it's for a good cause: saving the Grand Cinema from certain doom. Do the right thing, cinephiles.

🍺 In a city where cloudy post-hike IPAs dominate, light beer never gets its due — until now. Flying Lion Brewing is holding its first annual Light Beer Fest through Saturday, for those who prefer pale ales and pilsners in the summer heat. 10am to midnight at Flying Lion (5041 Rainier Ave. S).

    Saturday

🏳️‍🌈 Scarecrow Video's massive video archive holds a treasure trove of local queer history, and you can see some of it at " Moving History — The Queercrow Archive Vol. 2 ." Northwest Film Forum, starting at 4:30pm. Tickets start at $7.

    Sunday

🥾 Celebrate Seattle's outdoorsy dads at the Mountaineering Club's Father's Day party , with brunch from 10am to 2pm, a Good Luck Bread pizza pop-up from 5pm to 9pm, a dad joke contest and more — all atop the Graduate Hotel in the University District.

🧔 Hang out with Seattle's hipster outdoorsy dads at Filson's Father's Day celebration , with black-and-white portrait sessions and custom chain stitching on Filson items from 10am to 2pm at the Filson Seattle flagship store (1741 1st Ave. S).
