The Seattle Kraken traded the 169th and 201st overall pick to the Florida Panthers for the 141st overall pick to select Clarke Caswell.

The 5'11, 176 lbs left winger scored 26 goals and 77 points in 68 games. He led his team in points despite some of the big names on their roster. He's a slick, talented winger with defensive upside.

Eliteprospects describes him as "Caswell consistently wins body position on opponents before touching the puck, even going out of his way to intercept them with his back. Inside the defensive zone, he forces high turnovers and dives down the wall to pickpocket opponents. Then, he quickly moves the puck to the middle. He prefers to play a give-and-go supporting game, highlighted by unique skills as the F2. Once he gets the puck, he instantly finds the next play, whether he’s delaying for a lane to open, deceiving opponents, finding the trailer, or hitting the middle driver".

Many scouts had the 18-year-old projected to get picked in the 70th overall range but surprisingly dropped and the Kraken took the opportunity to trade up to get him.

The Kraken have been zoning in on making their selections on players from the WHL with now four players including their first-round pick.

After the trade, the Kraken now hold one more pick in the seventh round.
