Marshawn Lynch launching podcast with influential politician: Is he running for office?

The Seahawks have had better players come along than Marshawn Lynch. Walter Jones, Steve Largent, Kenny Easley and Cortez Kennedy come to mind as a few all-time greats who may be more acclaimed. However, no one in franchise history can match Marshawn in sheer likeability and popularity with the Seattle fan base.

Since his retirement Lynch has kept himself busy, primarily in the media. He's had a regular gig on Thursday Night Football for Amazon , starred in a few movies and TV series and has become a part-owner of the Seattle Kraken in the NHL.

Lynch's latest venture? A podcast with a highly-influential politician.

According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, Lynch will be launching a weekly podcast with California Governor Gavin Newsome. Apparently they have been working on it for six months.

Newsome is a rising star in the Democratic party and a potential future Presidential candidate. That makes this a highly-intriguing match for Lynch, who has become a sort of unassailable counter-culture icon on the west coast. No human being is more popular in the state of Washington, and he can claim some California Love as well, having also played for the Raiders when they were still in his beloved hometown of Oakland.

If Lynch has his eye on running for office this would be a pretty forward-thinking way to get started. The fact that he put in so much time preparing for it is pretty intriguing, as well. Needless to say, we'll be listening.
