The Seattle Kraken have signed defenseman Josh Mahura to a one-year, $775,000 contract.

The left-handed defenseman played 30 games with the Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers last year and recorded nine assists during the regular season. He didn't get into any games with the Panthers during their playoff run.

The previous season, however, Mahura featured in all 82 games and scored four goals and 16 points. Before joining the Panthers, the 26-year-old played four seasons with the Anaheim Ducks.

The Kraken traded Brian Dumoulin away yesterday to the Ducks for a fourth-round pick. Mahura will serve as a depth defenseman ready to jump into the lineup if any injuries occur.

The Kraken have now signed two defensemen off of the Panthers.
