    Seattle weekend guide: Bartók, Brahms, Beethoven and Ballard

    A weekend of festivals, food and fun awaits you in Seattle and beyond, including Ballard's seafood fest and the oldest fair in the West.

    Thursday

    🛢️ Find some old-fashioned fun — barrel races, livestock and lumberjack shows and a carnival — at the " the oldest fair west of the Mississippi " Thursday through Sunday.


    🌿 Check out the first-ever Bloomberg Green Festival , featuring food, entertainment, films and tours focused on climate innovation, at the Seattle Center Thursday through Saturday. A day pass for Friday is $75 , but there are plenty of free activities as well.

    💃🏽 Kick up your heels at one of the first Dancing til Dusk events in Seattle this summer, starting with a dance lesson. 6–9pm, Freeway Park. Free.

    Friday

    🚶🏽 Take a two-hour walking tour of Ballard's Landmark District led by an expert from the Seattle Architecture Foundation.

    • Meet at the base of the bell tower in Marvin's Garden where Ballard Avenue NW and 22nd Avenue NW intersect for the 10am–12pm tour. Tickets are $25 plus fees.

    🎏 Learn more about the city's maritime history at the Ballard SeafoodFest Friday through Sunday, featuring music, arts, crafts, kids activities, seafood (of course) and slew of craft beers. Admission is free.

    Saturday

    🎸 Hear the Grammy-nominated blues band Blues Traveler , JJ Grey and Mofro at the summer concert series at Marymoor Park in Redmond at 6:30pm. Tickets start at $44 .

    Sunday

    🎻 Listen to a free recital of music by Bartók, Brahms and Beethoven performed by Seattle Chamber Music at the Nordstrom Recital Hall in Benaroya Hall. 1pm. Recitals before performances are free through the summer.
