A fire has ripped through a neighborhood in Seattle burning eight homes to the ground and leaving residents 'panicked and stunned.'

The blaze broke out at a tiny home village on Elliot Avenue West not far from Seattle's Centennial Park.

So far the cause is unclear but one arrest has been made, reports KOMO News. Police say that the person arrested was a resident of the village. CCTV captured from the scene showed a pillar of smoke looming over the area.

Tiny House Villages were set up in response to the city's growing homelessness problem. They give people without homes respite until more suitable accommodation can be found.
