What was first believed to be a vehicular homicide by a hit-and-run driver in Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood is now being described simply as a homicide, but at least one car was involved, according to Seattle Police.

At 4:45 a.m. Monday, officers were called to a report of crash at Northeast 125th Street and 30th Avenue Northeast.

Officers found a 33-year-old man lying in the road. Seattle Fire Department medics tried to save his life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed that an argument between two men happened before the crash. The suspect then fled and has not been found. Police are no longer calling it a vehicular homicide.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit arrived and processed the scene for evidence.
