Seahawks DL Jarran Reed pokes fun at new defensive coordinator's accent

The Seahawks weren't always a Super Bowl contender under former head coach Pete Carroll, but at least they were always fun. While Carroll is no longer around it doesn't necessarily mean that the team's culture is going to change dramatically. One thing general manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald mentioned coming into this year was keeping in place the good vibes that Carroll left around the building. In other words, they're here to win, but there's nothing wrong with having a bit of fun.

Veteran Seattle nose tackle Jarran Reed certainly still has that spirit. Here he is on Seattle Sports radio doing an impression of new defensive coordinator Aden Durde's British accent.

Reed is coming off an impressive 2024 season, which was his most productive as a pass rusher since his first tensure in Seattle back in 2018. He wound up posting seven sacks, seven tackles for a loss, 12 quarterback hits and earned the highest pass rush grade (70.8) of his career so far.

Looking ahead, Durde and the Seahawks may choose to move Reed around the defensive line more than the last adminstration. Incoming veteran Johnathan Hankins is a pure nose tackle and rookie Byron Murphy II should also see some snaps at that spot. Either way, this might be Reed's last run with the Seahawks. He has one season left on his contract.

As for Durde, at least to start the season the defensive playcalling will be done by Macdonald, but he will eventually hand those duties off.
