Seattle Seahawks announce more changes to their offensive line unit

The Seattle Seahawks held their first training camp practice of the year yesterday at the VMAC. Before the practice began, the team announced two roster moves , intended to continue reshaping their offensive line unit as the season approaches.

The team signed former Hawaii left tackle Ilm Manning (6-foot-2, 294 pounds), who spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers as a rookie last year but did not actually appear in a regular season game. To make room for Manning on the 90-man offseason roster, the team waived guard Tremayne Anchrum Jr., who they signed back in March early on in free agency.

Even though Manning has five years of experience playing on the blindside, Seattle is listing him as a guard, which makes sense given his relative lack of size at the pro level. However, the fact that two of their last three signings ( including former NDSU OL Jalen Sundell ) have a lot of experience at left tackle does raise an eyebrow about that position. If starter Charles Cross or primary backup Stone Forsythe are injured there's been no indication, but this might just be a case of the team hedging their bets in case Cross and Forsythe struggle once the games begin. Raiqwon O'Neal may also see some snaps during the preseason at that spot.

The Seahawks also announced that former Auburn cornerbacks Nehemiah Pritchett and D.J. James have been activated after going on the non-football injury list last week.
