Sebastopol police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a gas station on Gravenstein Highway early Sunday morning and fleeing on an electric scooter.

The man, wearing a neon-green coat and ski mask, walked into the Fast Gas gas station in the 1000 block of Gravenstein Highway South in Sebastopol at about 5:48 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

The man, described as about 5 foot 6 inches and slender, placed a light-colored handgun on the counter and demanded money from the attendant.

The attendant handed an undisclosed amount of money to the man, whofled southbound on Gravenstein Highway South on an electric scooter.

Police say the attendant dialed 911. The gas station stayed open while an investigation took place.

The handgun may have an extended body and “switch” modification, according to the police. A switch modification is an illegal device added to a semi-automatic gun that makes it fire automatically in short bursts.

Anyone with any information about the suspect or robbery, please contact Sebastopol police at 707-829-4400.
