Local man facing 10 charges in child porn investigation

SEBRING, Ohio (WKBN) – A local man was taken into custody after an investigation into child sex abuse material that began in May 2023.

Douglas Brock, 63, of Sebring was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Saturday.

Police reports said officers were notified on May 3, 2023, by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) about three images of child sex abuse material being downloaded, with the address being in the 500 block of West Texas Avenue, where Brock lives. Police said that one of the images showed a sexually explicit image involving a young girl. Police believe that the girl in the video was between 12 to 14 years old.

On May 6, 2023, police executed a search warrant at Brock’s home and found a computer that belonged to him as well as 10 long guns and one handgun. Reports said Brock did not know that he couldn’t possess firearms because he previously had a felony conviction. As a result, Brock was arrested on a third-degree felony charge of having weapons under disability.

Police reports said that after all facts and circumstances were gathered, warrants were issued for Brock’s arrest on July 11, 2024, for six counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor or impaired person and four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, all fourth-degree felony charges.

Brock’s arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday in Mahoning County Court #3 in Sebring.
