The crash happened at about 1:20 p.m. near Exit 1 in Seekonk. The police closed all three lanes to rescue and treat occupants of the vehicles, the state police said. All lanes were reopened shortly after 6:30 p.m., the state police said.

Two of the vehicles, a box truck and SUV, caught fire, according to WPRI.
