OCEAN CITY, MD- Dredging near Ocean City is scheduled to start on July 24th. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Fisheries says the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be focusing on two priority areas from the last round of Inlet work. They also plan to work on the junction between the Isle of Wight and Inlet channels.
Republicans for Sussex hold Big Tent Event
Republicans for Sussex held its annual Big Tent Event, a friends and family picnic, July 14 at American Legion Post 28 near Millsboro. Attendees enjoyed an old-fashioned picnic of chicken, hot dogs, sides, chips, ice cream and cold drinks. The classic summer Sunday afternoon family picnic included an auction and a chance to win $100 in cash. Attendees got to meet their Republican candidates and enjoy the shade and gentle breezes under the Post 28 pavilion.

Local officials and other members of the community are pictured last week during a construction tour and fundraiser for the new Fire Station 3 on 65th Street in Ocean City. According to department officials, the tour was a “fantastic opportunity” for firefighters and EMS providers to connect with people and showcase the needs of the station and department. While the physical station is paid for and set for a ribbon cutting upon full completion this fall, personnel are still raising money for furniture, fixtures and equipment. Donation opportunities are available through the purchase of memorial bricks, granite tiles, and room sponsorships.
