Jake Bird, a notorious American serial killer, was known for claiming that he had placed a curse or hex on those involved in his trial and imprisonment. According to reports and folklore surrounding him, he supposedly muttered the phrase "I'm putting the hex of Jake Bird on you" while being led away from the courtroom after his conviction.

Whether these claims had any actual supernatural effect is highly doubtful and mostly regarded as a part of the myths surrounding his story rather than a factual occurrence. It's important to note that such claims often arise in the context of notorious criminals as part of their infamy and the public fascination with their deeds and personalities.

However, in a strange twist of events, five people involved in his trial mysteriously passed away before he was executed. Convicted of killing two Washington State women in 1947, Jake Bird was also linked to 44 other killings across several states.

According to the legend, when he was allowed to make a statement at his trial, he stood for 20 minutes, hexing everyone involved in his capture and trial. The judge who sentenced him to death died a mere four weeks after sentencing him of a heart attack. Two of the guards who took his first confession died within a year of his sentencing.

In a failed bid to save his life, Jake managed to stay alive two more months by conveniently confessing to 40 other murders in various states; eleven of these confessions appeared to be true. What do you think? Did he really hex his jailers and the judge? Or was it a mere coincidence?
