Piney Woods Timberhogs to host ‘Bark in the Park’ event
All fans will be able to bring their dogs, as long as they have received their vaccinations, to enjoy a night of baseball and fun events at the ballpark. “Bark in the Park” is this week’s event taking place Saturday, July 27 at 7 p.m. at the White Oak Baseball Stadium.
Local organizations keeping East Texans safe with summer fan drive
On Friday, East Texas Refrigeration and East Texas Generators delivered eight pallets of donated fans to the Salvation Army of Tyler. This delivery of 350 fans follows the “Beat the Heat” fan drive this summer held in partnership between the Salvation Army and East Texas Refrigeration and East Texas Generators.

UT Tyler's School of Medicine introduces manikin simulation lab
TYLER, Texas — The University of Texas School of Medicine is introducing new technology into their curriculum. Medical students can now gain practical skills in the school's simulation lab, where they will practice on manikins that can move, talk, respond to questions and even demonstrate vital signs. Students will use the manikins to practice key medical procedures, including performing ultrasounds, inserting IVs and treating injuries.

TYLER, Texas — A convenience store and gas station with ties to New Mexico and West Texas is expected to come to the East Texas area later this year. Allsup's Convenience Store and Gas Station, which began in Roswell, New Mexico and primarily has locations in New Mexico, West Texas and Oklahoma, has filed a permit with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
