BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A Maryland family received a special 4th of July gift this year as Alberta Russell celebrated her remarkable 100th birthday. Surrounded by three generations of her family, along with close friends, Alberta marked this significant milestone in her life. She was born in Philadelphia and grew up in New York before moving to Florida and finally settling in Baltimore to be near her loved ones.

Dozens of teenagers crowded the Druid Hill Park Pool on Friday night for the first Splash Fest Teen Pool Party of the summer. "It's so important to provide our young people with things to do," said Noell Lugay, the city's assistant deputy mayor of human services. Maryland Zoo chimpanzee celebrates fifth birthday
(WBFF) — A chimpanzee at the Maryland Zoo in Druid Hill Park turned five today and celebrated with a party thrown in her enclosure by zookeepers. Lola - alongside other chimps from the Zoo's troop including three-year-old chimp Maisie - celebrated the big day with several sweet treats left by zookeepers, as well as streamers and other decorations dotting her living space. When it’s THIS HOT outside, I’m on a hunt for places with AC to spend the day. In that vein I went with a friend to the Baltimore Museum of Art last week and to my surprise, there was a sculpture garden, there in the heart of the city. A very nice one, as nice as the ones we have in downtown D.C. (Interestingly, it reopened in July, 2020, at peak covid.)
