It was a big week for food
This week was a big week for food. Prairie Fruits Farm & Creamery won four medals — the most they’ve ever won — at this year’s American Cheese Society Annual Competition. Urbana’s Sicilian sandwich shop Baldarotta’s announced the opening of a second location, a neighborhood Italian bodega on Griggs Street. On Thursday, BakeLab opened a Champaign location: BakeLab Pâtisserie and Café at Lodgic. And there was bad news this week, too: A Taste of Both Worlds inside Broadway Food Hall closed permanently.
Champaign Farmers Market updates layout for plaza project
This past week, The Land Connection‘s Farmers Market in Downtown Champaign updated their layout to accommodate the beginning of the construction of the plaza project. Their market runs through October 22nd, so for the next few months you’ll be seeing an updated approach to the market, which you can interact with via their handy map here. You can check it out below, and be sure to head out to their market which takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday in the parking lot between Neil and Washington Streets.
