Water Restrictions Extended in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties
As the Tampa Bay region continues to experience drier-than-normal weather conditions, residents will continue to only be allowed to irrigate their lawns once-a-week. The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) is extending the watering restrictions in place for Hillsborough County, Pasco County, and Pinellas County until September 1, 2024. Officially referred to as the “Modified Phase 1 Water Shortage Order,” the once-a-week watering restrictions initially went into effect on December 1, 2023.

PORT RICHEY: Richey Drive and Bay Boulevard Scheduled for Overnight Paving Project
PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Drivers are advised to plan for alternate routes as a paving project gets underway on Richey Drive and Bay Boulevard. According to the City of Port Richey, asphalt crews will begin work on Sunday, July 7th, at approximately 9:00 pm and continue through Tuesday, July 9th. This project aims to improve the roadway surfaces on Richey Drive and Bay Boulevard, stretching from Wilkins Street all the way to U.S. Highway 19.

There’s a main north/south road that’s planned to connect New Tampa directly into the middle of Pasco County. It will run from the K-Bar Ranch Pkwy. extension in Hillsborough County, all the way north to eventually intersect with Prospect Rd., near the south side of the Mirada development in San Antonio. Florida Residents Urged To Take Precautions as Mosquito-Borne Illness Cases Rise
Health officials in Florida are urging residents to take precautions against mosquito-borne illnesses as recent tests have shown increased activity. The Florida Department of Health (DOH) has issued an advisory for Pasco County, Hillsborough County, and surrounding areas, citing the presence of Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus (EEEV) and West Nile Virus (WNV) in mosquito samples and confirmed cases of Dengue Fever in both counties.
