Shadyside Apple Store to move to new, nearby location
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Apple Store in Shadyside is moving but it's not going very far. Right now, the store is located in the 5500 block of Walnut Street but soon they'll be taking over the former site of the Gap just down the street in the 5400 block. Over the past couple of years, Walnut Street has seen several changes, including the closing of the Gap. Wheeling Symphony to Celebrate America with 2024-25 Fourth of July Tour
This July, the WSO hits the road with Celebrate America!, a Fourth of July celebratory tour. From July 4 – 7, the WSO will begin this celebration tour in Wheeling’s Heritage Port and then travel to Weirton, Canaan Valley, and Clarksburg. As part of the WSO Community Concert series, all four of the Celebrate America! performances are free to attend.
Historic Flood Wall in Wheeling gets painted
The flood memorial wall at the corner of Virginia and S. Penn streets on Wheeling Island continues to receive a significant facelift. The City contracted Angelina Stone and Marble to clean out the mortar joints and repoint the brick. Wheeling Heritage is overseeing the repainting of the wall, which will include the addition of the five most recent flood dates and water levels, ensuring the memorial remains an accurate and poignant record of the area's flood history.
