Five people face Livingston County drug charges
Several people are facing drug charges following the execution of a search warrant in Livingston County on Monday. Deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff's Office went to home on Stringtown Road in Grand Rivers. Deputies said they found approximately 17 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia indicative of illicit drug trafficking, and marijuana.

Martin, Tenn.–– Virginia Grimes was recognized for her 34 years of service to UT Martin and the WestStar Leadership Program with a reception in the Boling University Center’s Duncan Ballroom on the University of Tennessee at Martin main campus. In addition to the reception, the Virginia Grimes WestStar Leadership Endowment to support the WestStar program was announced by UT Martin Chancellor Yancy Freeman. Also, Jake Bynum, university chief of staff and WestStar executive director, announced the Virginia Grimes WestTeach Leadership Award to recognize leadership and dedication among members of WestStar’s WestTeach leadership-development program for K-12 teachers. Grimes came to UT Martin in 1990 from Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville. $21M In Outdoor Recreation Grants Awarded; Trenton Receives $553,000
NASHVILLE – The state’s Office of Outdoor Recreation today announced $21,017,000 in grants from the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) for 27 communities across the state. The office is housed in the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). The city of Trenton received $553,000 for improvements to Shady Acres Park.
