Jennifer Garner Spotted With Ben Affleck On His Birthday Amid Rumored Separation From Jennifer Lopez: 'She's There for Him'

Ben Affleck marked his 52nd birthday on August 15th with visits from both his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and his current, though reportedly estranged, wife Jennifer Lopez . The 13 Going on 30 alum, who is also 52, was spotted earlier in the day visiting Affleck’s rental residence in Brentwood, California, according to paparazzi photos obtained by Page Six .

The former couple , who divorced in 2018, co – parent three children: Violet , 18, Seraphina , 15, and Samuel , 12. Later , Lopez, 55, was photographed leaving the Argo actor’s same rental home, as captured by The Daily Mail . Speculation about the state of their marriage has been fueled by their extended time apart over the summer.

Entertainment Tonight also reported last week that an insider revealed Garner has been a supportive and communicative presence for Affleck during his and Lopez’s alleged marital struggles .

"Jennifer Garner is being communicative and an understanding shoulder for Ben," the tipster told the outlet. They added: "She's there for him every step of the way and given the involvement of their kids, she's very supportive. She also respects his private and personal life and doesn't get too involved."

Regarding the notion of keeping a healthy distance, another source recently shared with the Daily Mail that the Deadpool & Wolverine actress has decided to stop playing the role of marriage counselor for her ex. "Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, 'Sorry, figure this out yourself.' It was beginning to become too painful for her because it was bringing back so many memories of their divorce," the source explained.

The insider went on: "Throughout their marriage there were times when Jen felt like she was second to J.Lo even though there was no communication between her and Ben for years. She was surprised at how public he became when they reunited because he was always a man who wanted to be out of the spotlight when they were married."

They went on: "Jen opened up her home and her life to J.Lo because she had moved on from the past. She cares about J.Lo and cares about their kids and how it will affect all of them. But in the end, it is not Jen's circus, not Jen's monkeys and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife."

Following her solo birthday celebration in the Hamptons, Lopez was spotted at Affleck's rental home. According to a source from People Magazine , the "On The Floor" artist visited the property on Sunday, August 11th, while Affleck was present . Earlier that same day, she was seen spending time with his and Garner's son, Samuel.

In May, multiple sources disclosed that the Justice League star and Atlas actress, who had tied the knot in 2022, had started living apart . This revelation came after they had jointly acquired a Beverly Hills mansion earlier in May 2023.
