Bobby Berk Says This Will Be 2025's Biggest Decor Trend

Just as the seasons change, so do decor trends. Earlier this year, Ecclectic Grandpa was all the rage while this summer saw Pinterest searches for Nancy Meyers home aesthetic surge by over 1000%. So what kind of decor trends can we expect to see in 2025? We’re glad you asked because we recently had the opportunity to sit down and chat with home design guru and Emmy-nominated TV personality, Bobby Berk and we chatted all about the trends he predicts will be a hit next year.

2025’s Biggest Decor Trend

“I think desert hues are going to be really popular,” berk exclusively told SheKnows. “We’ve been so neutral the last few years that I think people are kind of over that, and are looking for some way to warm it up,” Berk explained. “I think, you know, like desert terra cotta color and cactus green. I think bringing those colors in is going to be really popular.”

Move Over, DIY — 2025 Is All About SIY

I’m sure you’re familiar with every homeowner’s least favorite acronym: DIY (do it yourself). While DIY isn’t necessarily going anywhere in 2025 (who can afford to not DIY their home projects these days?!), there’s a new IY in town and it’s called SIY, or, smartify it yourself.

Berk recently teamed up with Amazon to help consumers see how simple and easy it can be to transform your home into a smart home without professional help.

“I always think a great way to dip your toe in a smart home is through lighting,” Berk says. “In the morning I have my coffee maker plugged into a smart plug that works with Alexa so I just say Alexa rise and shine, and Alexa starts brewing my coffee and also turns on the lights in my kitchen to a brighter white on the Kelvin scale because warmer light helps you relax, while brighter light helps you wake up.”

“I also have one for after-dinner drinks. I just say ‘Alexa, it’s time for drinks’, and Alexa will change the light in the house.”

“Another way that I would really utilize smart home devices is my cameras,” Berk says. “My father passed about a year ago this month, and my mother was left living in her home in the country all by herself for the first time in her life and she was very scared to be in the house by herself. So I set up Ring cameras for her, so not only can she see what’s going on and know that nobody can walk anywhere near her house without her knowing it, but also, I can keep track of her. When she goes out for a walk, I’m like, ‘Enjoy your walk!'”

SIY Your Halloween Decor

Berk didn’t only have tips and predictions for 2025, we also chatted about some ways to SIY your Halloween decorations now that we are officially entering spooky season. “I think that smartifying yourself with your pumpkin decor is a great thing, too,” Berk shares.

“All the stuff that you need to plug in, you can connect it to a smart plug , and you can just say, Alexa, get the pumpkin party started, and Alexa will turn on all the devices for you so you’re not having to go and plug stuff in.”

“Also, if you have Phillips hue bulbs , another thing about them is they don’t just do different hues of white and warm light. You can get the ones that will literally do any color. My landscape lights are also Philips landscape lights . And so for Halloween, I just changed them all to orange.”
