Paris Hilton Reveals She Has ‘Hundreds of Wigs’ To Disguise Herself When Spending Time With Her Kids in Public

Who is Paris Hilton without her iconic blonde hair? It’s simple: she’s just “Mom.”  It turns out, the heiress and singer ditches her signature golden locks when she wants to spend some low-key time with her kids out in public and puts on one of her “hundreds of wigs” instead to avoid getting noticed by fans. Talk about being a master of disguise!

The “Fame Won’t Love You” singer revealed her easy, yet genius method of protecting her family’s privacy in a new cover interview with Nylon . “I want to be able to go to Disneyland [with my kids]. I want to be able to go to the farmers’ market,” she shared, referring to her babies Phoenix, 19 months, and London, 9 months, who she shares with Carter Reum. She revealed her tried-and-true method to do this: “The way I deal with it now is I’ll be in a full disguise. The black, short wig …”

“I have hundreds of wigs,” she added. “So it could be any color with giant sunglasses, a hat, a hoodie, sometimes a face mask. Just to be able to be undercover and run around and do fun stuff and be normal.” I mean, hey, it worked for Miley Cyrus when she went undercover as Hannah Montana, so why not? I can just imagine Hilton in a black or hot pink wig, strolling around Disneyland without a care in the world, and I love that for her!

If she is recognized though, The Simple Life alum doesn’t sweat it. “I think because I’ve been in this industry for so long and have been through so much, nothing fazes me anymore. I’m just so used to it,” Hilton told the outlet. “Wherever I go, whenever I’m eating dinner, people are always coming up, and I always am so polite — I’ll take photos with everyone.”

How sweet is that? But while Hilton generally doesn’t mind the attention, sometimes it’s too much, and she feels torn between ignoring people and neglecting family time. “Sometimes I feel bad because I’m with my family and I don’t want to take away the time from everyone, but then I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings,” she said. “I have such empathy for people, so I never want anyone to feel sad.”

This isn’t the first time the Paris In Love star leaned on a wig to hide her identity. In a previous interview with Harper’s Bazaar , she revealed that she used a brunette wig and a hoodie to visit the hospital incognito, where Phoenix was just born via surrogate.

“My entire life has been so public,” she said. “I’ve never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves.” Hilton added, “I want to protect him and to be with him every second. You have this mother instinct that kicks in, which I’ve never had before. I feel so complete now.”
