Malia Obama Solidified Her Edgy Fashion Icon Status With This Super-Rare Red Carpet Appearance

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s elder daughter Malia Obama is not only making a name for herself in Hollywood, but is also becoming known as a daring fashion Queen, as well.

In case you missed it, Malia attended the opening ceremony during the 50th Deauville American Film Festival on Sept 6; and turned heads with her daring red carpet look. See the photos below:

As you can see, Malia looks so stunning in this plaid ensemble from Vivienne Westwood, which contains a blue layered skirt and off-the-shoulder red corset. She paired this edgy look with knee-high black leather Coperni boots.

During this rare outing, she won the Young Spirit award and made headlines for her look. “I’m so excited. I mean, I’ve never done anything like this … so of course [I’m] a little bit terrified, but mostly just excited,” she said in a TikTok .

When asked about her look in the same interview with Paris Match, she said “[It’s] Vivienne Westwood. Queen! It’s cool. I don’t know as much about fashion, but I’m happy to be wearing it.”

We love seeing her come out of her shell, and it just shows she’s getting more and more comfortable with red-carpet fashion.

As many loyal fans know, Malia is no stranger to edgier looks. Earlier this summer, she donned a crop top and mini-skirt ensemble while going to a party at the Chateau Marmont Hotel ; along with her daring red ‘do and street style .
