Sheriff’s Office to conduct safety checkpoints in Montevallo, Chelsea

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it will conduct safety checkpoints on Friday Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a safety checkpoint on August 30, from 11 to 2 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 155 and County Road 18 in Montevallo.

An additional safety checkpoint will take place on Aug. 31 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Country Road 47 and Liberty Road in Chelsea.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the checkpoints aim to increase law enforcement presence and deter risky driving behaviors, keeping the roads safe for everyone. Drivers approaching the checkpoints can expect a brief stop and are asked to prepared to show their driver’s license and proof of insurance.
