Gabe DeVoe visits Boys and Girls Club in Shelby

The Gabe DeVoe Foundation and its founder, Gabe DeVoe, recently brought a blend of activity and education to the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland County with a program called Books and Basketballs: Building Futures One Page at a Time.

As someone who attended the Boys and Girls Club as a child, DeVoe recently returned to give back to the program.

The Shelby standout and former NBA player read to the children and spoke to them about the importance of reading and preparing for their future.

There was also a unique giveaway aimed to inspire and empower youth by combining two tools for success: education and activity. Attendees received free books and signed basketballs.

The Gabe DeVoe Foundation works to better the community and support youth in the area.
