Following Ozzy Osbourne's two Grammy Awards in 2023 for "Best Rock Album" (his first-ever win in the category) and "Best Metal Performance" from his hugely successful and critically acclaimed "Patient Number 9" album (Epic Records) and a recent No. 1-charting Active Rock song "Crack Cocaine" — a collaboration with Billy Morrison and Steve Stevens — he is now setting his sights on the 2024 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction. Osbourne has earned a solo induction for his nearly six-decade career in music. BLACK SABBATH was inducted in 2006. Library hosts 'Ferguson Voices' exhibit 10 years after Michael Brown was killed
Ten years ago in Ferguson, Missouri, police shot and killed Michael Brown, leading to 100 days of protests. Here in downtown Dayton, the main library is hosting again a unique exhibit called Ferguson Voices: Disrupting the Frame. It features interviews and photographs of twelve individuals who reacted to Brown’s death through community contributions such as acting, teaching and advancing the cause of justice.
Vitatoe named new president of STVM High School
AKRON — St. Vincent-St. Mary High School (STVM) announced July 29 that David Vitatoe will be the school’s next president. Vitatoe earned a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University, a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management and a master’s in education from Xavier University. He most recently served at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) as interim vice president of advancement and president of the NEOMED Foundation. An Akron native, Vitatoe attended St. Hilary grade school and Walsh Jesuit High School. His mother, Rose (Mastrolonardo) Vitatoe, is an alumna of St. Vincent High School. He is a member of St. Rita Parish and lives in Reminderville with his wife and three children.
