SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A mother accused of murder in an alleged fentanyl overdose of her 16-month-old daughter plans to accept a plea deal given to her by the state. In a 2022 indictment, Sara Ashley Joplin and her husband Taylor Holbus were charged with Felony Murder, Murder in the Second Degree, and Contributing to the Dependency of a Minor following the death of their daughter Elliot on Oct 15, 2021. This follows an incident laid out in the initial police report that says the two had what is to be believed were Xanax pills.
