HE’LL GET TO APPEAL THE SENTENCE, NOT THE CONVICTION, ON OCTOBER 29TH IN RICHMOND. MURDAUGH IS CONTENDING HIS SENTENCE WAS OUT OF LINE WITH OTHER SENTENCES FOR WHITE COLLAR CRIMES. HE STILL IS IN JAIL SERVING HIS BACK-TO-BAACK LIFE SENTENCES FOR MURDERING HIS WIFE AND SON BACK IN 2021, CASES THAT ARE ALSO UNDER APPEAL. AND HE’S ALSO ALREADY SERVING NEARLY 30 YEARS FOR FINANCIAL CRIMES HE PLED GUILTY TO ON THE STATE LEVEL.

Springsteen joins host of SC Public Radio show
Furman University’s Greg Springsteen, professor of chemistry, joined Mike Switzer on South Carolina Public Radio show “South Carolina Business Review.” The 2024 recipient of the South Carolina Governors Award for Excellence in Research, Springsteen spoke with Switzer about his investigation of metabolism and his theories about how life on primordial Earth began. Springsteen underscored the importance of undergraduate research and pointed out that while Furman’s work evolves at a slower pace than at R1 institution labs, the environment at Furman lends itself well to exploring big scientific questions. He said students at primarily undergraduate universities, like Furman, do a “fantastic job” of understanding the fundamental concepts in science behind metabolism and life.
