New Iowa THC Law Set To Go In Place Today Regarding Potency Levels

Nebraska City council recognizes Lacy for his service, lays out police chief hiring process
(Nebraska City) -- Nebraska City officials hope to have a new police chief by the end of this month. During its regular meeting Monday night, the Nebraska City City Council recognized Police Chief Dave Lacy for his service to the police department after he announced his retirement last month. The council also approved the appointment of Captain Lonnie Neeman as the Interim Police Chief, effective July 13th. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Line" program Tuesday morning, Nebraska City Mayor Bryan Bequette says the council felt it was important to recognize Lacy for his over four decades of service to the community.

New Market 4th of July festivities slated for Wednesday, Thursday

The New Market 4th of July Celebration ramps up into full gear beginning Wednesday afternoon with a long list of events, including a pitch and cribbage tournament at 1:30 p.m. at the community building and pie judging at the Miner Pavilion at 2 p.m. Later in the evening, there is also a sand volleyball tournament, pie auction, and draft horse pull at the park. Iowa caregiver pleads guilty to stealing thousands from client with disability
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - A Council Bluffs caregiver who was scheduled to go on trial this week for financially exploiting a client entered a plea agreement Monday. Theresa Sanchez, 53, pleaded guilty in Pottawattamie County Court to one count of first-degree theft and one count financial exploitation of an older individual. Council Bluffs Police arrested Sanchez in February, accusing her of stealing more than $11,000 from an individual in her care who has intellectual disabilities.
