    Vanilla Buttercream Icing: Easy and Delicious!

    This vanilla buttercream icing is one of my favorites to add to several desserts that I make. It is so simple to make and much better than the store bought versions. You will need the following ingredients:

    Recipe:

    1 stick of salted butter

    3 1/2 - 4 cups of powdered sugar or 1lb box

    1/4 heavy cream (you can use half and half or milk)

    1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

    Tip: La y the butter out ahead of time so that it reaches room temperature.

    Using a mixer add the butter and whip it on the high setting until it gets that nice light and fluffy look. This will take about 3 - 4 minutes.

    Next add the powdered sugar, vanilla and the heavy cream and turn the mixer on to the low setting and mix it on low until everything is mixed in and then turn the mixer to high and whip the frosting for about 3 - 5 minutes. Enjoy!

    You can frost or ice whatever it is you may need this icing for. It does not have to be refrigerated. It will be okay to sit out for 2 - 3 days.

    Note: If you have any icing left you can freeze it for up to 6 months. Just take it out of the freezer and allow it to come to room temperature and it will be ready to use. You also can dye this frosting whatever color you need just add the food coloring until it reaches the color you wish to have.

    I like to serve this icing on homemade brownies, cookie cakes, and other delicious desserts I like to make.
