District 6 Students Enjoy Educational Trip to Denver Aquarium
Students from the Greeley-Evans School District 6 Gifted and Talented summer camp went on an educational trip to the Denver Aquarium. Cavanaugh from S. Christa McAuliffe STEM Academy enjoyed petting stingrays but made sure not to touch their tails. David also from S. Christa McAuliffe STEM Academy loved the flash flood area and petting a horseshoe crab. Benjamin from Scott Elementary had fun with the stingrays and experiencing the waterfall. All students enjoyed learning about oceans and rivers during the trip. The District 6 is proud of the students' learning experiences and looks forward to more opportunities for them. #WeAreDistrict6 #ImDistrict6.
Beloved Teacher Retires After 53 Years
Teacher Cheryl Beckwith beamed beneath her gingham bonnet, encircled by 25 fourth graders in straw hats, aprons, and other Colorado-prairie garb. Her William “Bill” Roberts students “were learning by doing—the way it should be,” she says, as the children fed goats on their field trip to the Plains Conservation Center in Aurora. Auraria Campus directors approve school system’s new ‘Campus Framework Plan’
Leaders of the Auraria Campus on Wednesday approved the school system's 10-year framework plan, which officials said was three years in the making. During the last week of summer school in Westminster, about 19 kids practiced forming English sentences that described pictures displayed on a smartboard at the front of the class.“I see kids playing fútbol,” one child, Mathias, said about a photo of a group of older kids playing soccer in the rain.But teacher Sydney Pollock wanted the class of third through fifth graders to practice starting sentences with the words “This” or “That,” and to use a singular verb in the sentence. Future Jag dancers take the floor
The award-winning Rock Canyon High School (RCHS) Dance Team (also called Poms) hosted its summer camp for interested dancers, grades kindergarten through 8th grade. The two-day camp hosted 90 junior jags (elementary students) and future Jags (middle school students). The campers were introduced to pom techniques and dance skills and then performed choreographed routines at the RCHS boys’ youth basketball game.
