Millions in state budget for businesses
LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The governor stopped in Duryea on Friday at the Production Systems Automation factory to tout the recently signed state budget. More than 500 million dollars will help the state grow more competitively with jobs, better pay, and more businesses. 20 million will go toward the Main Street Matters Program to help small businesses. PSA currently has 92 workers and is one of the 7,000 small businesses in Luzerne County with fewer than 100 employees. They say this money will go a long way.

Neighborhoods in Pa. cities can get up to 13 degrees hotter due to urban environment
On hot days, it can feel hotter in some Pennsylvania cities, according to a new analysis by Climate Central, a non-profit science communications group. That’s because of the urban heat-island index – additional heat absorbed and released by buildings, roads, and pavement. The study showed that Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Wilkes-Barre all felt at least 8 degrees hotter, with some regions of the cities feeling up to 13 degrees hotter.
