Pepa from the group Salt-N-Pepa found herself in a dispute with Southwest Airlines during a flight from Las Vegas to Nashville on Monday, July 15.

According to Pepa, the incident resulted in her removal from the plane, alleging unfair treatment by the airline.

TMZ reports that Pepa had purchased two seats due to lingering effects from a 2018 car accident. Despite wearing a knee brace, a flight attendant reportedly insisted she could only occupy one seat.

After some negotiation, Pepa was initially allowed to keep both seats.

Later, a fellow passenger, citing a funeral, requested Pepa’s extra seat. Following a series of discussions, the passenger ultimately obtained the seat.

Pepa then contacted her assistant, who advised her to record the encounter.

Subsequently, Southwest Airlines allegedly removed Pepa from the flight, citing concerns over her recording activities and claiming they no longer felt safe flying with her.

In response, Pepa posted a video on Instagram, documenting her conversation with Southwest Airlines staff regarding the incident.

Southwest Airlines reimbursed Pepa $2,500 for the seats, which she had purchased. Additionally, she incurred costs for wheelchair assistance and car service, which were reportedly not utilized.

Reports indicate that Pepa, originally from Kingston, is considering legal action concerning potential violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
