Late Rally Pushes Wisconsin Past Beloit
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers didn’t let an early start, or a late deficit bother them on Sunday afternoon at ABC Supply Stadium. Wisconsin rallied from a 2-0 deficit with single runs in the eighth and ninth innings and three runs in the tenth to defeat the Beloit Sky Carp 5-3. The game started thirty minutes earlier than scheduled due to a forecast that called for thunderstorms in the early afternoon. It did rain lightly a few times during the game, but the storms never rolled through the area leading to a pleasant afternoon at the stadium.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Department Prepares for New K-9 Addition
SHAWANO, WI- Following the retirement of K-9 Arres earlier this summer, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department is gearing up to welcome a new K-9 unit. Capt. Nick Prey, who oversees the K-9 program, confirmed that a female Belgian Malinois has been reserved. Training will commence in mid-November 2024, with dates yet to be finalized. The training will be led by master trainer Tony Pallotta from Toronto, Canada, who conducts his own handler training courses.
Fond du Lac County police chase of stolen SUV ends with PIT maneuver
FOND DU LAC, Wis. - A high-speed, miles-long police chase of a stolen vehicle in Fond du Lac County ended on Monday, July 22 with a PIT maneuver and two arrests. On that Monday, Fond du Lac County deputies were made aware of a pursuit that had just occurred with the SUV in Winnebago County. The deputies set up on roadways leading into our county to attempt to locate the vehicle.

Door County Land Trust adds to Ellison Bay's Grand View Park
One of the most iconic panoramic views in Door County will have a neighboring property controlled by the Door County Land Trust. The property below the Grand View Scenic Overlook and Park hill in Ellison Bay was purchased by the Door County Land Trust from Barbara and Don Fuhrmann. The six acres of land was purchased by the Fuhrmanns in 2000 to preserve it from development. Door County Land Trust Executive Director Emily Wood says Fuhrmanns sold the property for the exact price they paid for it nearly 25 years ago. She notes that the acquisition is a perfect next chapter in the Grand View story.

Suspects in U-Haul chase continue to be held on bond after court date
