CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A woman is wanted for a smoke shop burglary in Shippensburg where State Police say tens of thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen.

According to State Police in Carlisle, a warrant is out for Jessica Stine’s arrest for the theft at the Shippensburg Vape and Smoke Shop, located at 304 N Earl Street, that happened in October 2022.

Stine, of Shippensburg, is accused of stealing hundreds of items worth $24,063.80, which included cigarettes, smoking devices, cash, Pennsylvania Lottery tickets, and a black safe, according to court documents.

After arriving at the scene, Troopers say they saw there were missing cigarettes, the cash registers were empty and lottery tickets were removed from their drawers and put around the counter. One smoking device was broken and others were missing.

A worker told Troopers when they showed up for their morning shift, they saw the registers were empty. According to the charges, there was also a witness who reported seeing the entire theft happen and gave State Police the suspect’s description.

State Police say video cameras also showed Stine disabling the alarm system, entering the store, and putting items in trash bags.

State Police were later told that Stine was seen with garbage bags that had cigarettes and vape smoking products, along with a black mask, hours after the theft happened, the charges say.

Stine faces felony charges of theft, burglary and criminal trespass along with misdemeanor charges of tampering with evidence and criminal mischief.
