Sunday will end our wonderful weather streak as rain returns to the Rockford region
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - If you have been a fan of our wonderfully sunny weather, I have some bad news for you. Clouds will slowly start to make their way back into the stateline this evening as we will turn mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s. As we head into the morning hours, we will start to see the first of the many rain chances make their way into the stateline.

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Rockford University holds its second annual Dog Days of Summer event to welcome back Alumni and enjoy an early morning stroll. On Saturday, an estimated 40 dogs and their owners visited the Nelson Alumni Center, 5050 E. State Street, to enjoy the weekend weather and stay active. Event guests could pick up trail maps, grab goodies from that The Canine Crunchery and learn about the non-profit Canine Companions.
