Jennifer Lopez is a multi-talented celebrity. Her sister shared why all her success was almost annoying.

Jennifer Lopez and her sisters were all talented, but she was the only one to make it in show business. Her father said that this was because Lopez possessed a level of drive that few people did. Her younger sister said Lopez became a success because she was good at everything she did. She said it was a nearly infuriating quality.

According to Lopez’s father, David, she was good at many of the hobbies she picked up as a child. Even when it didn’t seem like she would take to something, she did.

“I recall asking why she was going out for track,” David told Rolling Stone. “I thought she’d get outclassed, because she’d never done anything like that. If she starts something, all that happens is she gets better. She got to the point where she was competing with the big girls — she got called to Madison Square Garden for the Colgate Games.”

Her sister, Lynda, agreed with her father. She said that her sister’s success didn’t come as a surprise to her as she had succeeded at nearly everything she tried.

“Her success doesn’t surprise me,” Lynda said. “She really was always one of those people who was great at everything — almost one of those people you hate. In sports, she was this amazing gymnast and shortstop, a great tennis player. Basically, anything she wants to do, she’ll be as successful as you can at it. That’s the kind of person she is.”

Her father said she had the most drive to make it

David Lopez said Jennifer Lopez wasn’t the only one of his daughters who had talent. The difference was, though, that she was the only one who wanted it enough.

“All three of my daughters have talent,” David said. “Jennifer is the one with the drive to put it all together.”

He added that she had always been this way.

“She’s in a tough world, but you’ve got to realize who the person is,” he said, adding, “She was always very competitive. She’s had that drive since she was a baby.”

Lynda is Lopez’s younger sister. She also has an older sister, Leslie. Lopez said that the hardest part of having a career in show business was that it put distance between her and her sisters.

“When I moved out to L.A., one of the things I missed most was my friendship with my sisters, especially Lynda,” Lopez said, per People.

Leslie said that her younger sister’s fame didn’t change the dynamic between them.

“She’s a famous movie star to all of you, but not to me,” she said in 2002. “She’s still my sister. Still my little pain in the butt sister.”
