Victim Named In Shreveport’s 32nd Homicide of 2024
A man shot and mortally wounded in the Eden Gardens neighborhood late Friday, June 28, 2024, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office. Jacoby Willis, 46, of Dallas, Texas, was talking to another individual at a residence in the 7200 block of Bethany Street when a family member heard several shots. The family member checked on Mr. Willis, who had been shot in the neck and was unresponsive. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he succumbed to his wound at 11:59 p.m.

A man who shot and killed an acquaintance in the Highland neighborhood was convicted of the slaying and associated charges by a Caddo Parish Jury Thursday, June 27, 2024. The 11-woman, one-man jury in District Judge Michael Pitman's court deliberated just under two hours before returning its verdicts against Torail Thomas, 44, in connection with the November 10, 2022 death of Da’Twaine Broomfield.
