LifeShare donate blood and receive a cooler

SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) — LifeShare Blood Center is giving donors new insulated cooler bags and shades, stating ‘every two seconds, someone somewhere needs blood.’

LifeShare posted via social media , ‘They are here until August 31st while supplies last!’

“Blood donations are critical at this time, especially when donations already decrease by 20% over the summer. We urgently need your help over the next 72 hours to support our local hospitals!” shared LifeShare as they prepared for Hurricane Beryl.

Interested donors can schedule appointments online and/or search for their closest mobile drive or donor center.

According to their website, anyone who is eligible to donate blood can be a whole blood donor and can donate one unit of blood every 56 days.

LifeShare states ‘the whole blood donation process takes about 45-60 minutes, including registration, screening, and donation. The actual donation takes about 10-15 minutes.’

Shreveport’s donor center is at 8910 Linwood Avenue, and Bossier City’s Donor Center is at 1523 Doctors Drive.
