Firefighters Race to Combat Mount Kisco Blaze
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - Members of the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department and other first responders were called to the scene of a three-alarm blaze at The Chase on Sunday, July 21. According to First Assistant Chief Josh Fine, the blaze started in a car around 1 p.m. in the Carlton Drive home’s garage and caused heavy smoke, water, and heat damage in other parts of the structure.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER County fire officials closed their investigation after determining that the cause was not suspicious, he said. The home’s occupants were able to flee to safety. No firefighters were injured, Fine added. Among the units providing mutual aid were Yorktown Heights, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Pleasantville, Briarcliff, and Armonk. Due to the high heat and humidity that day, additional resources were needed to allow departments to rotate crews. An Ossining man faces ten years in prison after he was arrested by the feds Friday and accused of threatening to kill U.S. postal workers and burn down two post offices in Westchester. U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, says 46 year-old Anthony Alfano made a series of graphic and violent threats on Saturday June 22nd threatening a “massacre” that would “go down in history” if his package was not delivered on-time. Williams said he was expecting cremated remains, and the package arrived on the next business day. He was charged with threatening interstate communications, and willfully making a threat involving fire. Williams said Alfano has made threats against others, including local police officers, delivery persons, and customer service representatives in the past.
