JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) – Forest Hills alum and UPJ National Champion Cody Law is gearing up for a return to the octagon on Friday, Aug. 2. Law, who hasn’t fought since Nov. 13 due to thumb surgery, will replace another fighter on short notice to face off against Zachary Hicks.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to get back in there after a long break post thumb
    surgery,” Law said.

Law will be making his debut on ESPN and in the Professional Fighters League, a promotion that purchased his contract from Bellator. In 10 Bellator fights, he racked up an 8-2 record.

“I was staying in shape in case this sort of thing came up,” the 29-year-old said. “I couldn’t turn it down.”

Law’s usual head coach, Mike Brown, won’t be in his corner due to being a part of another UFC coaching opportunity. As a replacement, Law will have a familiar coach in former fighter Shane Valko, who is also a Forest Hills alum and UPJ National Champion.
